Tax Forms & Information

Johnson County Public Library provides the following resources to assist patrons with tax preparation:

  • Paper tax forms – patrons may take one (1) copy of tax forms provided by the Internal Revenue Service and Indiana Department of Revenue; additional copies can be made at the standard rate of 10 cents per page. The IRS no longer provides instruction booklets or many other forms to libraries. Library staff cannot advise patrons which forms to prepare.
  • Online form printing – patrons may request help printing other tax forms at the standard rate of 10 cents per page. Please be prepared to provide the name or number of the forms you need. Library staff cannot advise patrons which forms to prepare.
  • Tax Preparation Assistance – AARP provides trained volunteers at library branches between February and April to assist patrons with tax preparation. Assistance is provided by appointment only, and space is limited. Please call your library branch for more information. Visit the IRS website to search for other locations offering free tax preparation.
  • Internet access for online tax preparation – the library provides Internet-connected computers that can be used to access online tax preparation sites. JCPL does not endorse specific preparation services and cannot assist patrons with online tax preparation. The Internal Revenue Service and the Indiana Department of Revenue offer e-filing options through their respective websites.
  • Books and reference material – the library collection includes many titles on tax preparation. Check the online catalog or ask a reference librarian to find and reserve these titles.
