Job Requirements:

An opportunity exists for an energetic, enthusiastic individual to assist in developing and presenting programs which focus on teaching English to speakers of other languages. The selected candidate will provide ongoing support to English as a Second Language learners and Adult Basic Education learners and their tutors in a supportive learning environment. The Specialist will coordinate a social media presence to promote the Adult Learning Center and engage learners. This is a high-visibility public service position in an environment requiring sensitivity and the ability to work with students from different cultural and educational backgrounds. 

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in English, Education or a related field. Additional requirements include excellent interpersonal skills; a minimum of one-year teaching or tutoring experience; public presentation skills and an enthusiasm for engaging through social media.

Job Benefits:

This is a 40 hour per week position with a minimum starting salary of $17.00 per hour and an outstanding benefit package including paid vacation, sick, personal time and holidays. The selected individual must be available to work Thursday evenings and the occasional weekend hours.
