JCPL is More Than Books

Johnson County Public Library’s mission is to connect people with resources. The staff at all four JCPL Branches are knowledgeable and willing to help you use Library resources to improve your education, skills, job and overall quality of life. Digital Navigators, who are trained staff members at each Branch, are available to help you overcome internet and technology obstacles, too.

JCPL is here to help.

If you live, teach or attend school in the Johnson County Public Library district, you are eligible for a Johnson County Public Library card. A Library card ensures your access to all the resources in JCPL Branches and access to digital resources you can use on your computer, phone, tablet or TV. To get a card, all you need to do is sign up. Complete the application form online.

Print, Copy, Scan & Fax

JCPL provides low-cost printing and copying as well as no-cost scanning and faxing. You can print documents you create on your home computer; just email them to your Branch. Anything you create in the Library can be printed as well. Visit a Welcome Desk or here for the details.

Standard Printing Costs:

Letter (8 1/2" x 11") and legal (8 1/2" x 14") B&W copies: 10 cents/page
Letter (8 1/2" x 11") and legal (8 1/2" x 14") Color copies: 25 cents/page

Use a PC or laptop in the Branch

All JCPL Branches have PCs and laptops that everyone can use. If you don’t have a Library card, stop at the Welcome Desk and ask for a guest pass. Check your emails, get social media updates on family and friends, apply for a job or create a resume. Plus, you don’t have to worry about privacy. All of your personal information is wiped from the PC when you are finished.

Wi-Fi Access

Each JCPL Branch offers free, wireless internet service. Simply connect your laptop or mobile device to our public network inside the Branch or from the parking lot. No password is required.

Borrow a Mobile Laptop Kit

If you need a laptop, a Mobile Laptop Kit that includes a Chromebook laptop, mobile hot spot and a wireless mouse may be what you need. Check with a Digital Navigator; they can fill you in on the details and check your eligibility to borrow a kit.

If you, or someone you know, would like to learn English as a Second Language, prepare for the HiSET exam, complete a job application or improve their adult basic education skills, JCPL’s Adult Learning Center can help. Schedule time with an ALC tutor here or call the ALC at 317-738-4677.
