Nov. 2024 Children's Book Week

An Ocean of Stories

Children's Book Week

Celebrate Children's Book Week, November 3-9, by stopping by one of our branches to share your favorite children's book on our Ocean of Stories community display, then guess the shredded book and you could win a prize.

Children’s Book Week is a national week-long event that celebrates books for young readers. 2025 is the 106th anniversary of this beloved program, and this year’s event slogan is An Ocean of Stories. This slogan celebrates the vast, collective ocean populated by the stories we read, share, and tell.  You can also celebrate using all the amazing free resources at EveryChildaReader.net. Follow #StoryOcean online for more.

Established in 1919, Children's Book Week is the longest-running national literacy initiative in the country. Every year, commemorative events are held nationwide at schools, libraries, bookstores and homes - wherever young readers and books connect!

Finding the perfect book for your little one can be a challenge, but our carefully selected book lists can give you a head start.
