Celebrating Diversity in Johnson County

The Johnson County Public Library is celebrating diversity in Johnson County with four cultural spotlight events at our branches. All Ages Welcome!
Clark Pleasant Branch
Sat. / Sep. 15 / 1 p.m.

Learn about the traditional culture of Japan, presented by Minori Abel from the Japan-America Society of Indiana. We will have fun origami and calligraphy paper crafts, as well as Japanese snacks following the presentation. 

Trafalgar Branch

Learn about the traditional culture of China with the Confucius Institute of IUPUI.

White River Branch
Sat. / Sep. 29 / 1 p.m.

Join us as we delight in Bollywood music, food, yoga and dancing. Try out temporary henna tattoos and learn about our neighbors from India.


Franklin Branch
Sat. / Oct. 13 / 2 p.m.

At this final spotlight event, we'll focus on the cultural and historical significance of Mariachi music in Mexico with crafts and a special musical performance by Indianapolis-based Mariachi Band Zelaya.
