FOR TEENS
Come celebrate your favorite pop culture and geek fandoms! Meet young adult authors, participate in a cosplay contest and more. Visit stations around the library to make crafts, meet professional Star Wars cosplayers, superhero costume characters, enjoy snacks and play games.

Join us at for an afternoon of activities to enjoy with friends, including a teen author panel featuring New York Times bestselling author Kendare Blake ("Anna Dressed in Blood" & "In Every Generation"), Ed Cho & Lee Cherolis (graphic novelists and illustrators of the "Little Guardians" series) and Annie Sullivan ("A Touch of Gold, A Curse of Gold.")
The first 25 teens to attend will receive a free book. Meet the authors, participate in a Q&A and get your books signed after! Copies of books will be available to purchase through Wild Geese Bookshop.

Schedule of Events:
Noon: Character Meet & Greets, STEAM programs, crafts and photo ops
1 - 2:45 p.m.: Author panel, Q&A and book signing
3 - 4 p.m.: Cosplay contest

Cosplay Contest Rules
1. This is a family-friendly event. The Johnson County Public Library reserves the right to refuse a costume entry that the JCPL staff deems unfit for an audience of all ages. Costumes deemed inappropriate will not be allowed to participate in the contest.
2. All Costumes must have sufficient body coverage and no chance of indecent exposure.
3. Weapons are not allowed. Swords, knives, or anything with a sharp edge is not allowed. Any metal objects are not allowed. Anything that shoots projectiles is not allowed. Only soft foam props are allowed and they are not to be used for hitting people or things.
4. For safety reasons, please wear footwear at all times, even if your costume doesn’t require it.
5. The Johnson County Public Library reserves the right to remove any attendees who do not follow the above rules or are creating a hazard for other attendees. Please be respectful to others attending the cosplay contest and the rest of the event.
