What You Need to Know

The White River Branch will be temporarily closed beginning Monday, November 21 to perform some needed updates and replace the flooring. We are tentatively scheduled to reopen on Monday, Dec. 5.

How long will the White River Branch be closed?

The work will require the Branch to close for up to two weeks starting on Nov. 21, 2022 to allow enough time to move our collections and make enhancements. Our priority is to get the branch open as soon as possible! We are tentatively scheduled to reopen on Monday, Dec. 5.

What if I need to contact the White River Branch?

You can continue to call the main line at 317-885-1330. While we’re closed, phone calls will be transferred to another branch where staff members will answer any questions you might have.

Can I return materials while the White River Branch is closed?

You can continue to return materials in the book drop at the White River Branch or at any other JCPL Branch. Materials will be checked in and held until the building re-opens.

Can I place a hold on an item that is on the shelf at the White River Branch?

If there are multiple copies of the requested item at other JCPL Branches, your holds will be fulfilled while the White River Branch is closed. You may continue to place holds on items that are only at the White River Branch, but those holds will remain unfulfilled until the Branch reopens. Thank you for your patience during this process!

Will I be able to pick up my available hold(s)?

JCPL staff will contact patrons with two options for holds: we can transfer your hold(s) to an alternate Branch, or we can suspend your hold(s) to be picked up at the White River Branch after it reopens.
