High visibility public service position providing excellent customer service while assisting with the Summer Learning Program (SLP). Scheduled hours (30 hours/week) will be shared between the Circulation Department and Adult & Children’s Services.

Circulation – performing all circulation duties associated with checking in & checking out library materials, collecting fines & fees, registering library cards, and sorting & shelving materials. Additional responsibilities include assisting patrons with computers and copiers, answering telephone inquiries and assisting with other tasks throughout the library.

Adult & Children's Services – assisting with activities and programs. This includes communicating with patrons about SLP, encouraging participation and promoting library programs. Additional duties include assisting with programs, creating displays and preparing crafts.

Job Requirements:
Qualified candidates will have excellent customer service skills, should be positive, energetic and flexible, with computer knowledge and experience. They should have the ability to engage kids of all ages. The selected candidate would be available to work a variety of shifts throughout the week, including some Saturdays and the occasional Sunday through July 31.

Job Benefits:
The starting salary is $12.00 per hour.
